2018 Saracens Youth Bursary Winners

On Wednesday, May 30th, 5 CVR students received Ormstown Saracens Youth Bursaries to enable them to play for the junior teams for free this summer. The awards were handed out at the CVR Sports Awards Banquet, an annual event where excellence and sportsmanship are recognized each year.

This year, four girls and one boy went home with bursaries. Liam Duncan (U-17), Jade Rodrigue-Lefort (U-17), Kelsey Sylvester (U-17), Rose Surprenant (U-17), and Delphine Vranderick (U-15) are the 2018 winners.

The bursary program was started in 2014, as a way for the rugby club to give back to the community and make access to the sport more accessible for youth players. The awards are based on 4 areas: the influence of rugby on the student’s life, financial need, academic performance and extracurricular activities.

Congratulations to all the winners!
