The Ormstown Saracens 11th Annual Spring Classic took place at CVR this past Saturday April 27th. Four men’s and four women’s teams competed in three games each, with the victors being decided in a final and consolation final in each division.
The big winners of the day were the Lady Saracens with wins over Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue 56-0, TMR 21-7 and the Ottawa Indians 41-0. The Lady Saracens faced TMR in the finals and emerged victorious with a score of 36-5.
The men’s side saw plenty of wins as well defeating the Montreal Irish 19-12, Beaconsfield 10-0 and the Barbarians 26-0. Unfortunately, the Saracens lost to the Irish 17-3 in the final.
A great day was had by all involved, including future members of the Ormstown Saracens who were introduced to mini-rugby at a practice which took place during the event.
