Saracens celebrate their season at 2013 awards banquet

Over 80 past and present Saracens players and friends celebrated the 2013 season at the annual awards banquet held at the Ormstown Rec Centre on December 7th.

The centre was transformed into a festive party thanks to the decorating efforts of several members, primarily from the ladies’ team. Christmas lights, candles, helium balloons and a photo display with props set the mood. Music for the party was supplied by DJ Kadillac.

This year the Saracens had 1 women’s team, 2 men’s teams, U18 girls’ team, U18 and U14 boys’ team, as well as the mini-rugby program (mixed teams for kids U12 and U10). After two challenging seasons, the Lady Saracens were made the FRQ Division 1 Champions in August, in Quebec City, and hold the triple-crown of 7s tournament titles: John Jones, Quebec Fall League, and the New York 7s social division! While the men’s teams had a more up-and-down season, they made a comeback late in the season, and made it into the playoffs.
