That’s right, the Ormstown Saracens Senior Men have made club history and won their division 3 championship game.
In a thrilling match against St Jean on the Montreal Irish fields in St Julie on Saturday September 17th, the Saracens fought tooth and nail to keep the other team’s offense at bay.
After exchanging points back and forth for 80 minutes, with only seconds left in the game, a remarkable try made by Stéphane Ouellette (earning him the man of the match) between the posts put us down by only 1 point. It is there at the 22 that Shawn Blair converts a perfect kick through the uprights and wins us the game, only 27-26.
An incredible moment for everyone on the field and those cheering in the stands. A moment that will not be forgotten by this club for a very long time.
After all, it’s more than just a game.
